Redbridge Hockey Festival
Gilbert Colvin attended the Redbridge Hockey Festival, they were against seven other schools, from around the borough.
They took part in a variety of games in a carousel format, scoring points at each base. They were facing different challenges, learning new skills, while adding to their points tally.
The children worked really hard, set a good example and represented the school impeccably.
After the scores were totalled up Gilbert Colvin came third and were awarded bronze medals.
A BIG WELL DONE EVERYONE!

Gilbert Colvin returned triumphant from The Redbridge Netball Tournament.
After losing their first couple of games, they went on a winning run, scoring twelve points and only conceding one.
All the team contributed with solid defence, and quick passing and attacking.
The team all received Gold Medals and brought the Cup back to the school.

Jaybee Gymnastics Competition
5th April 2025
On Saturday the 5th April, a group of our pupils took part in the Jaybee Gymnastics Competition and did brilliantly – many received medals and ribbons, and all represented the school with talent, determination and pride. Well done, team!

Gilbert Colvin sent a group of children to the Panathlon event held at Caterham High School. They took part in a variety of multi-skills activities, which included different types of throwing, running, bowling, and teamwork activities.
After completing seven activities, the children had earnt enough points to finish in second place and collect silver medals and a trophy.
A big well done to all those who took part: Niksika, Erwin, Millie, Ben, Lukas and Saul.
Gilbert Colvin participated in the event held at Redbridge Sports Centre and competed in a variety of multi-skills activities, which included different types of throwing, running, and bowling. However, to be successful, the team needed to work together. After completing 7 activities the children had earnt enough points, to finish in 2nd place and collect silver medals.
A big well done to Berk, Harpreet, Lorena, Jordan, Millie and Erwin!
Redbridge Netball Tournament
Gilbert Colvin took part in the Redbridge Netball Tournament on Tuesday 10th February. The children were put in a group with six other teams. The games were all very close - Colvin ended up losing 2 matches, drawing 3, and winning 1. That was good enough to get them a quarter final place which they won after a shootout.
In the semi-final they were again involved in a close game, but unfortunately lost 2-0.
An enjoyable day was had by all. WELL DONE to the netball squad: Emily, Yahya, Georgie, Ioan, Brinti, Theo, Maryham, and Brinda.
Football Team League Matches
Gilbert Colvin played their first round of league matches at Frenford Sports Ground.
After defeats in their first three games, Colvin started to play better as a team. Their 4th and 5th games were against Wells Primary: both games were close with each team winning a game 2-1.
The performance was a big improvement from the earlier matches, with Layth and Ioan scoring the goals.
Squad: Reuban, Layth, Ioan, Theo, Skylan, Meyhar, Kristiyan, Kaisan, Mark and Idris.
Children from Years 4, 5 and 6 took part in a hockey festival at Redbridge Sports Centre. All children enjoyed themselves and had a great time improving their hockey skills through events and games.
Squad: Kosheth, Sami, Umair, Nyla, Maryam, Theo, Georgie and Reuban.
Gilbert Colvin sent a group of seven Year 6 girls to the event held at Redbridge Sports Centre. They took part in a variety of activities that they might not have experienced before, which included Boxing, Rowing, Boccia, and Curling.
After they had tried all the activities, they were able to have another turn of everything, and try to set a personal best on each activity.
